At 13, Elvis began his music career after shifting to Memphis, Tennessee with family. His first song was recorded at Sun Records in 1954. Later, in 1956 he debuted in a film and then joined Military service in the year 1958.
After almost a decade he made his comeback with his special live performance ‘ELVIS’ and won people’s hearts with many other music programs as well. Sadly, he died in 1977 due to several years of prescription of drug abuse.

In spite of having a short life span, his list of achievements made it quite a big. He collected three Grammy awards along with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award at age 36. His American albums even accolade him with gold, platinum or multi-platinum awards.
He performed in almost 1100 concert performances. His home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991 which is visited by almost 6,00,000 visitors each year.

His love for music initiated when his mother inspired him to buy a Guitar rather a rifle at age 13. At 12, he was too shy to sing on a radio station and rejected one of the offers. He was even turned down in an audition of the Song fellows in the year 1952.
Whereas, in the same year, a local radio station played his version of “That’s All Right” which was played on 13 more times on the same day. 6 feet tall Elvis wore a 13 size shoe and used to dye his brown hair to give them a black luscious look.
Elvis’ wife, Priscilla Beaulieu was 10 years younger to him and they dated for 8 years before getting married. Elvis’s hit song “It’s Now or Never” inspired a prisoner to pursue his career in music.
