Wouldn’t it be interesting to ride a battery driven car which can travel 500 miles by charging it just for 1 minute? Fisker, a Danish automotive designer has come up with this great idea.

Fisker designed some amazing cars like BMW Z8 and Aston Martin V8 Vantage. He has relaunched his electric car start up this year and is ready to bring a revolution in the solid-state battery-driven electric cars.

The designer originally had planned something really attractive. He used the graphene-based hybrid capacitor technology but somehow ended up using the lithium-ion batteries. This was not going as per plan but he had to continue using Li-ion batteries.

Fisker’s idea was great but there was slight hindrance which forced him to use Li-ion batteries. Even though his battery is much safer than Li-ion they lacked some specific features. This high energy density battery lacked in temperature ranges, electrode current density and is much higher price than Li-ion batteries. However, the solid-state batteries developed by Fisker are much safer and possess a higher energy density as compared to standard Li-ion batteries.

Fisker Inc. didn’t lose hope in coming up with the perfect battery for electric cars. They worked hard and successfully invented a pitch-perfect combination of power and price. They are very confident about the product design which will make you travel 500 miles but charging it only for 1 min.

According to Dr. Fabio Albano, VP of battery systems at Fisker Inc and co-founder of Sakti3 to Green Car Congress this will be a beginning of the new era in the solid state materials. They are answering the possible questions like the batteries performance in cold temperature, low-cost manufacturing methods, bulk production of solid-state electrodes with required thickness and high active material. There is already a patent filed and are excited to roll out the batteries by 2023.

The 5 years wait must be worth it once the technology is positively full proof. The new automation sounds very attractive and 1-minute charging luxury will be too difficult to pass.
