North Korea Is Testing Anthrax Tipped Long-Distance Bioweapons
All the countries are preparing themselves for war and want to be war-ready with all different types of weapons. North Korea is into some kind of research that is unique in every aspect. But there are some questions raised by the researchers as other parts of the world are worried about what North Korea is up to.
A piece of news was cited by an unknown Japanese intelligence in the tie-up with South Korea intelligence in Japanese Newspaper Asahi. It is about North Korea testing to load anthrax on long-range ballistic missiles pointed at the United States base. It sounds scary but in the world of the nuclear weapon, the impact is questionable.
According to the newspaper, North Korea is testing how much temperature and pressure can anthrax tolerate when loaded onto the missiles. The requirement is about 7000 degrees. The warheads of Hwasong-15; an intercontinental ballistic missile, is to be filled with anthrax. This missile is aimed at the base of US located in Japan, Guam and South Korea.
There are many reasons why this research cannot be considered as scary. One of them is the source from where the news is coming; it is a weak source. The second thing is transporting anthrax is very easy. One may not have to think of complex solutions.
The payloads of the missiles are insulated so anthrax may not necessarily have the property to survive at 7000 degrees. If missile needs to be working at 7000 degrees then none would have passed nuclear weapon payload while re-entering the atmosphere. If they want to give a shock to the US then all they need is to launch a short-range missile such as “No Dong” loaded with nuclear, chemical or anthrax weapons.
Anthrax v/s Nuclear Weapon
The mass destruction by a nuclear weapon is much more than anthrax loaded missile. Nuclear weapons quickly heat up and blast while biological weapon anthrax could take weeks or months for the same level of destructions. There is no point in using anthrax over a nuclear weapon. But that doesn’t mean North Korea wouldn’t use it.
We cannot completely eliminate the fact that North Korea using anthrax spores in warheads. The only concern is how effective it will be and will it match up the nuclear weapon.
