Apple Reveals Why Old iPhones Are Slowing Down Over Time
Owning an Apple phone has always been everyone’s dream! If people are unable to afford the latest models they prefer to buy the cheaper old models. But do you know the reason behind many complaints being registered these days about old models? Yes, many of the oldest versions of iPhones have been accounted for slowing down.
Slowing down or lagging with the time of Samsung phones is quite a common thing in the digital market, but when it’s about Apple brand, this is really a surprising fact to know.
From The Company
Although the company has not stated much over the issue but in their recent statement, the reason behind the complaints is revealed!
“Our goal is to deliver the best experience for customers, which includes overall performance and prolonging the life of their devices. Lithium-ion batteries become less capable of supplying peak current demands when in cold conditions, have a low battery charge or as they age over time, which can result in the device unexpectedly shutting down to protect its electronic components.”
The company has also stated that with the release of newer versions of iPhones they are planning to add support for other products also in the future.
What’s The Issue
They said that since batteries have a particular lifespan and after which they need to be replaced, the phones are slowing down only because of this reason. With the increasing age of battery their ability to retain the charge decreases due to which it cannot retain the same power as it used to in the beginning.
As every problem has a solution, one of the Reddit users has also come up with a solution to this issue. He said replacing an iPhone battery will lead to “returned performance and CPU clock speeds back to normal.”
Replacing a battery costs just $80 which can be the best alternative to save hundreds of dollars for buying a new phone.
