At a climate meeting, there was a discussion which says that battery driven car will help the environment. To keep the global warming below 1.5 degrees over 100 million electric vehicles should be in use by 2030. The market for batteries will be of $100 billion by 2025 and the use will increase in business and household. But factually batteries are equally harmful to human and environment. So to stop the hindrance of batteries one should cross following 5 barriers.

Lithium-Ion battery used in electric cars will cover 90% of the market by 2025. It is equally true that carbon emission from these batteries is maximum starting from its extraction as raw material to its use and even recycling. There 3 major factors affecting:
It contributes to global warming as well as the energy used is more than combustion engine car.
If the battery is charged with coal power then it is very dirty in comparison with solar power.
Initially, the carbon footprint of electric vehicles is more but eventually, it matches with combustion engine since later on its clean.
