The House Tree Person Test is a kind of  projective technique designed to determine the main personality traits of a person who performs it. It was designed by John Buck and was originally based on the Good enough scale of intellectual functioning. It was developed in 1948 and then it took to updating in 1969. John Buck made sure that the test included both qualitative and quantitative measures of intellectual abilities.

Step One: Drawing First of all, you need to take a piece of paper and then draw a tree, a house and a person. Yes! We will need only these things to be drawn by the artist in you to analyse your personality. Step Two: Analysis We will analyze the following things in your drawing. 1. DIMENSIONS: The dimensions speak about the level of your self esteem and confidence. 2. STROKES AND LINES: The pressure, firmness and solidity of the strokes and lines are looked up to see the level of your determination and your comfort during the decision making process. For example, if you tend to draw the same line twice, it shows insecurity, dissatisfaction, and out of control perfectionism. CLARITY: The clarity in the drawing represents harmony and flexibility.

The way you look upon family life and relations are known by the way you draw a house. It speaks a lot about how you look upon family life and family values in general. 1. Roof: It represents your fantasy, spiritual and intellectual life of yours. 2. Chimney: It tells about your sexual life. The smoke in the chimney represents the internal tension. 3. Walls: The walls represent the firmness and strength of your personality. 4. Doors And Windows: The doors and windows tell us about your relationship with the surrounding world, social context, level of integration. For example, a very large door shows that you’re very dependent. 5. Ground: It tells us about the stability and your contact with reality.
