Insanity for selfie lands him trouble

A 25-year-old man decided that taking the best possible selfie was worth more to him than his life. The man — from a city called Warangal in south I

Our generation has been so much involved into social media and selfies that they are forgetting the term safety. Youngsters often land themselves in trouble which many a times lead to death. Capturing memories and clicking good pictures is a good idea but risking life for pictures is not good. Here is an incident related to the topic we are talking about.

An Insane Idea

A video has gone viral on the Internet where a man is seen taking a selfie with an approaching train in a very high speed. Siva, a resident of the city Warangal in South India, decided to take a perfect selfie with a high speed approaching train and in turn got hit. He survived the horrific accident but is suffering from minor head injuries. The incident took place near the Borabanda MMTS Railway Station.

Siva survived the accident because the locopilot had applied the emergency brakes and the pace of the train slowed down. Siva had received continuous warnings and commotions from his friends, from the home guard and was even alerted by the train's loud and blaring horns but he ignored it all and continued to smile for the camera. Though he survived, the home guard immediately took Siva to the Railway Police.

According to the Bharatnagar Railway Protection Inspector Sudhakar Rao, “He was booked and penalized ₹500. Despite the severity of the impact in the video, he escaped largely unhurt as the locopilot applied the emergency brakes and slowed the train.” A spokesperson for the South Central Railway revealed that there was an increase in the number of accidents on railway tracks due to the use of the cell phone.

Complete Ignorance

This case is an example of insanity and ignorance. We as youngsters are responsible to make the country better by following the laws and not breaking it. Trespassing on railway property is a punishable offence. India accounts to 60 per cent of selfie related deaths in the world. In January 2017, two teens were crashed to death by a speeding train while doing stunts and posing for selfies near a railway track in Delhi. In July, a group of friends entered a restricted safari area and tried to take a selfie with an elephant. One among them was trampled to death by the animal. Below is the video recording of Siva's perfect selfie trial where he gets hit.
